Baseball Cards

It's so cool when something you like but think that nobody else cares about actually turns into something that someone else cares about. I'm talking about 1987 Topps. This was the first year I collected baseball cards, and I still have that first binder of them. Thing is, I kinda assumed that nobody else liked that set. It's got a cheesy woodgrain border, the backs are a boring dark blue and green, but to me they hold a treasure trove of memories of my childhood and little league.

Surfing the web today I started looking up baseball card stuff on wikipedia, which led me to a baseball card blog. Apparently the baseball card blog. And guess what set he rated as number one of all time?

Click to find out.

funny enough that there might only be about 2 people in the world that think this is the best set ever. hopefully he is considering modernish cards.ah, the rated rookie. good times. it seems that 56 is pretty popular. its way better than 86 though, that set is horrible looking.

Yeah, both 86 and 88 are pretty nasty looking, but 88 had Sabo so it's awesome. The rankings were just sets from the 80's though, which a lot of people in the comments for that blog entry didn't get. I'd say 87 is probably the best looking set of the 80's, although the 57 and 59 sets are probably my personal faves. 62 has the woodgrain too, which is why I like it, plus I've actually got two cards from that set.I'm telling you, this blog is making me want to get back into cards.
